BREAKING: JAMB Introduces Home-Based O’Level Result Upload and Verification for 2026 Candidates
BREAKING: JAMB Introduces Home-Based O’Level Result Upload and Verification for 2026 Candidates The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home , reducing the need to visit JAMB-accredited CBT centres solely for O’Level result upload. The development is particularly important for candidates participating in the 2026/2027 admission exercise , especially those who registered for UTME with Awaiting Result (AR) and have now received their WAEC or other O’Level results. Under the new arrangement, candidates can obtain a Result Verification Code , have their result checked directly against records from the relevant examination body and subsequently upload the verified result to their JAMB profile. The system is beginning with WAEC results , with integration with other recognised examination bodies expected as the service develops. This represents a major shift from the traditional process where candidates often had to visit CBT centres and wait in queues for their O’Level subjects and grades to be entered manually. Reports on the new service say JAMB introduced the system to improve convenience, minimise data-entry errors, strengthen result verification and reduce the use of fake or altered O’Level results. Why Your O’Level Upload Is Very Important Candidates should understand that uploading O’Level results to JAMB is not optional for admission processing . JAMB's official guidance states that candidates awaiting results should upload them to the Board's portal once the results become available, and that institutions cannot successfully recommend candidates whose required results have not been uploaded. Therefore, even if: You scored highly in UTME You performed well in Post-UTME Your school has started releasing admission lists Your admission aggregate is above the departmental benchmark you may still encounter admission difficulties if your required O’Level result is not properly reflected on the JAMB system. How the New JAMB Home-Based O’Level Upload Works The process has two major stages : Stage One: Verify Your O’Level Result Candidates first obtain a verification code by verifying their examination result. Stage Two: Upload the Verified Result to JAMB After verification, the candidate uses the verification code to complete the O’Level upload process. STEP-BY-STEP: How to Verify Your O’Level Result From Home Step 1: Visit the Result Verification Platform Go to: buyresultsverificationcode.ng Candidates should carefully confirm that they are using the correct platform before entering personal information or making payment. Step 2: Enter Your NIN Enter your National Identification Number (NIN) and select the option to verify your NIN. Step 3: Choose the Number of Sittings Indicate whether you are using: One sitting , or Two sittings Then select the appropriate examination body. The new process is currently beginning with WAEC verification . Step 4: Enter Your Contact Details Provide: A valid email address A functional GSM number Then proceed to the payment section. Step 5: Make the Required Payment Candidates will be redirected to the available payment gateway. Payment can be made using supported methods such as: Debit card Bank transfer Candidates should follow only the payment instructions displayed on the legitimate verification platform. Step 6: Enter Your Examination Details After successful payment, provide your examination information, including: Examination number Examination series Examination year Ensure that these details correspond exactly with your actual O’Level result. Step 7: Verify the Result The system will verify the examination information against the records of the examination body. After successful verification, you will receive a Verification Code . SECOND STAGE: How to Upload the Verified O’Level Result to JAMB After obtaining your Verification Code: Step 8: Send the Verification Instruction by SMS Send: VERIFY [Verification Code] to either: 55019 or 66019 Example: VERIFY ABC123456 Use the verification code issued to you. After successful processing, your result should be uploaded and a notification sent to you. Candidates Using One Sitting Candidates whose required subjects are contained in one verified result may have their result processed through the verification/upload mechanism after completing the prescribed steps. Candidates should subsequently confirm that the correct O’Level result is reflected on their JAMB profile. Candidates Using Two O’Level Sittings Candidates combining two results may need to complete additional steps through their JAMB e-Facility profile . According to the published procedure: Log in to your JAMB e-Facility account. Locate “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.” Enter your Verification Code. Your verified results should be displayed. Select the subjects you wish to use for admission. Ensure that the subjects satisfy the requirements of your chosen institution and course. Click the option to apply the O’Level results. Candidates are expected to select: At least 5 subjects Not more than 9 subjects The same subject should not be selected more than once . Why Has JAMB Introduced This System? The traditional O’Level upload process depended heavily on manual entry at CBT centres. This could create several problems. 1. Long Queues at CBT Centres Whenever WAEC or NECO releases results, thousands of candidates may simultaneously rush to CBT centres to upload their results. Allowing candidates to complete the process remotely can reduce this pressure. 2. Manual Entry Errors A candidate may have: Mathematics – A1 but an operator could accidentally enter: Mathematics – B3 or select the wrong subject entirely. Direct result verification helps reduce human error. 3. Fake Results Since the result can be checked against records held by the examination body, the system can help JAMB identify results that cannot be authenticated. 4. Missing or Mixed-Up Documents Candidates may no longer need to depend entirely on presenting printed result slips for manual transcription. 5. Faster Admission Processing Verified O’Level information can be made available electronically for use during admission processing. JAMB's CAPS system requires candidates' relevant O’Level information to be available before admission can be properly processed. A Major Improvement for Candidates in Remote Areas The development could particularly benefit candidates who live far from JAMB-accredited CBT centres. Previously, a candidate might have to spend money on: Transportation CBT centre charges Long-distance travel Waiting time Repeated visits where networks were unavailable The home-based verification option can significantly simplify the process where the candidate is eligible to use it. Can Candidates Still Visit CBT Centres? The introduction of home-based verification should be seen as an additional convenient route , particularly for result verification and upload. Candidates experiencing difficulties should use JAMB's approved support channels and, where necessary, seek assistance from authorised JAMB facilities rather than unofficial agents. Do not hand your: JAMB password Email password ATM PIN NIN information Verification code Profile information to strangers claiming they can “help you get admission.” JAMB itself advises candidates to keep sensitive login and security information private. Already Uploaded Your O’Level Result? Check Again Even candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results should confirm that the information is correctly reflected. Check: Examination type Examination year Examination number Subjects Grades Do not simply assume that because you visited a CBT centre previously, everything was entered correctly. Awaiting Result Candidates Should Act Immediately Candidates who registered for JAMB with Awaiting Result should upload their results as soon as they become available. This is especially urgent now that many institutions have begun processing and releasing 2026/2027 admission lists . A candidate cannot afford to have an admission delayed because the institution cannot access the required O’Level result through JAMB. Does Uploading O’Level Guarantee Admission? No. Uploading your result only ensures that one important admission requirement has been fulfilled. Admission still depends on factors including: UTME score Post-UTME/screening performance O’Level grades Correct subject combination Course requirements Institutional admission formula Departmental competitiveness Catchment considerations where applicable Available admission quota JAMB CAPS processing Candidates should therefore not confuse successful O’Level upload with automatic admission . Important Warning About Two Sittings Before selecting subjects from two different results, ensure your intended university and programme permit two sittings . Some highly competitive programmes or institutions may impose stricter O’Level requirements. Candidates should verify the specific admission requirements of their intended institution before combining results. You can also use JAMB's official eligibility system to check subjects and programme requirements. What Candidates Should Do After Uploading After successfully uploading your O’Level result: Confirm that the upload was successful. Continue monitoring your JAMB e-Facility/CAPS. Check your institution's admission portal regularly. Watch for any course-transfer recommendation. Respond appropriately when admission is offered. Accept your admission on JAMB CAPS where applicable. Print your JAMB Admission Letter after admission is finalised. OGBAdmissionHub Advice This is a welcome technological development. Admission processes should increasingly become digital, verifiable and candidate-driven , reducing unnecessary queues and dependence on third parties for services students should be able to perform themselves. However, candidates should carefully follow the prescribed procedure and avoid fraudulent websites or individuals requesting their passwords or sensitive information. Most importantly, do not wait until your institution starts releasing admission lists before checking whether your O’Level result is properly uploaded. Your O’Level result is one of the fundamental pieces of information used during admission processing. Don't Guess Your Admission Chances After confirming your O’Level upload, candidates can use the OGBAdmissionHub Admission Calculator to assess their admission chances based on their UTME score, O’Level performance and institution-specific admission requirements. Candidates preparing for admission screening examinations can also use our CBT Practice Platform , including questions with the necessary images and diagrams , for a more realistic examination experience. 🌐 Visit: www.ogbadmissionhub.com OGB Admission Hub — Smart Tools.
