Print at least one clear copy for admission processing. The online result printout is not the same as the original WAEC certificate. School candidates will eventually collect their original certificates through their respective schools. Meaning of common WAEC result messages Result Outstanding This means that one or more subjects are still being processed. Candidates should continue checking the portal for updates. Result Withheld A withheld result is usually connected to an investigation into a reported examination irregularity. It does not automatically mean that the result has been permanently cancelled. School candidates should communicate with WAEC through their school principals when clarification is required. No Result for This Candidate Check that you selected 2026 and entered the correct examination number and examination type. Examination numbers can be reused in different years, so selecting the wrong year may display an incorrect result or an error. Result Held This may indicate that the result has been temporarily restricted pending further investigation or resolution of an administrative issue. Some Subjects Are Missing A partial result may occur because some subjects are still being processed or because of errors associated with the candidate’s examination records. Candidates should contact their schools for assistance. Important warning to candidates WAEC does not upgrade results. Anyone promising to change grades, release withheld results or manipulate the WAEC database is attempting to defraud you. Candidates should: Use only official WAEC websites. Avoid clicking suspicious result-checking links. Never send a PIN to an unknown social-media account. Confirm the examination year before submitting. Avoid paying anyone for “result upgrading.” Keep the downloaded result in a secure location. What to do after checking your WAEC result After confirming your grades, ensure that you have the correct O’Level subjects for your proposed university course. Candidates awaiting admission should also: Upload the result to JAMB CAPS when required. Confirm the O’Level requirements for their chosen course. Monitor Post-UTME registration deadlines.
