What Candidates Should Know Candidates should pay close attention to the distinction between the general merit score for their programme and the catchment score applicable to their state , where such a catchment score has been published. For example, Mass Communication has a general merit score of 66.20 , while its catchment scores range from 61.35 for Ekiti to 64.65 for Oyo . Computer Science has a merit score of 63.25 , while its published catchment figures range from 59.85 to 61.90 across the six states. Candidates should therefore confirm the score for their chosen course carefully rather than relying on a general YABATECH admission figure. Competitive Courses at YABATECH Based on the published merit scores, some of the most competitive ND programmes for the 2026/2027 session include: Mass Communication – 66.20 Computer Science – 63.25 Accountancy – 63.10 Business Administration & Management – 62.95 Science Laboratory Technology – 62.30 Electrical & Electronics Engineering – 62.10 Library & Information Science – 61.35 Computer Engineering – 61.10 Public Administration – 61.10 Marketing – 60.45 The published document also shows that several engineering, technology and built-environment programmes have merit scores in the low-to-mid 50s, potentially giving candidates whose scores fall below the highly competitive programmes other options to consider. OGB Admission Hub Advice Candidates who participated in the YABATECH 2026/2027 admission exercise should: Check the published score for their exact programme. Confirm whether they fall under one of the listed catchment states. Continue monitoring JAMB CAPS for changes to their admission status. Ensure their O'Level results and other required admission information are properly uploaded to JAMB. Avoid assuming that meeting a score automatically guarantees admission, as admission processing still depends on the institution's final consideration and available spaces. Students who are uncertain about their chances may also consider alternative programmes where their admission score is more competitive.
