JAMB’s August 2026 O-Level Verification Announcement: What Candidates Should Confirm

Voice of Nigeria reported on 24 August 2026 that JAMB was introducing direct verification of candidates’ O-level results, beginning with WAEC results. Its report attributed the announcement to JAMB spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin.
The initiative was described as a way for candidates to begin verification remotely. Applicants should distinguish that dated announcement from confirmation that every examination body, candidate category or school presently uses the same procedure.
Understand what needs checking
The reported process involves obtaining a verification code and following JAMB’s instructions to link the relevant result to the candidate’s admission record. Do not treat a purchase receipt alone as proof that your result has been successfully captured or that an institution has offered admission.
Check the current instructions through JAMB’s official channels before entering identification details or making payment on a verification service. Use the examination year, examination number and personal details that belong to you. Keep your receipt and any confirmation messages.
Protect your admission account
Do not post verification codes, passwords or payment details in public comment threads. If your result is missing or the system shows an error, seek help through JAMB’s published support arrangements or an accredited centre. A school may also issue instructions about what applicants must complete before screening.
