NNPC–SNEPCo Undergraduate Scholarship 2026: Free Application, 3.5 CGPA Requirement and November 30 Deadline

Updated: 1 November 2026 | OGB Admission Hub News Desk

Nigerian university students seeking financial support have a new opportunity to check: the 2026 NNPC–SNEPCo National University Scholarship is listed on Scholastica’s official Active Scholarships page. The published application deadline is 30 November 2026 .

The scholarship is administered through Scholastica for Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), and their co-venture partners. It supports eligible undergraduates in public Nigerian universities with an annual grant, subject to academic conditions. Applications are free .

Who can apply?

The official requirements identify Nigerian citizens who are currently in their second year (200 level) of full-time study at a public university recognised by the National Universities Commission. Candidates need a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 out of 5.0 , or an equivalent result on another grading system. Applicants must not already receive a national or international scholarship from an organisation in the oil and gas industry. Female students are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is not a scholarship for fresh 100-level entrants, postgraduate students or students at private universities. Applicants should confirm their individual circumstances against the full official conditions, rather than assuming that studying a science-related course automatically qualifies them.

Scholarship benefits and academic conditions

Successful recipients receive an annual undergraduate grant from their second year until the completion of their degree, provided they meet the scheme’s continuing requirements. Awardees must maintain at least a 3.5 CGPA each session. The official notice does not specify a fixed naira amount; students should disregard unverified amounts circulating on social media.

What happens after applying?

Only candidates who meet initial requirements may be invited to a monitored computer-based test. The organiser says it will shortlist the top ten candidates from each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for further academic verification. This is a shortlist for assessment, not a guarantee that everyone shortlisted receives an award .

Important warning: never pay an agent

The NNPC–SNEPCo scholarship application costs nothing. SNEPCo does not appoint agents to submit scholarship applications, and applications sent by email are not accepted. Beware of websites asking for a processing fee or promising a guaranteed award.

Students may encounter older Scholastica campaigns labelled “application period has ended.” Those archived campaigns have different identifiers; use the current 2026 campaign when checking availability.
