JAMB Explains New NCE and ND Agric Admission Process: Registration Fees, Result Verification and Steps to Follow

By OGBAdmissionHub News Desk | 15 October 2026

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has outlined a special registration and admission process for NCE programmes and specified ND Agriculture programmes that are not technology-based .

The guidelines explain how candidates should register, verify their O’Level results and receive admission through JAMB CAPS. They also address affected degree applicants in affiliated Colleges of Education and certain students admitted without completing the proper JAMB process.

The document is dated June 2026. Applicants should confirm the current arrangements with JAMB and their institution before making payment.

What does this mean for applicants?

The procedure you follow depends on your category. You may be:

Seeking fresh NCE admission.

Already registered for the 2026 UTME and applying to an eligible programme.

An affected degree applicant at an affiliated College of Education.

A 2024/2025 or 2025/2026 College of Education student whose admission needs to be properly documented through JAMB.

Do not assume that the same fees and steps apply to everyone. This notice also does not cover every ND programme.

1. JAMB will process one admission route at a time

According to the advisory, choosing the NCE route is a deliberate decision. Once a candidate is proposed or recommended for NCE admission, an ongoing UTME or Direct Entry admission process will be suspended.

Candidates moving from NCE to UTME must disclose any pending, approved or previous NCE application.

In simple terms: understand how changing your admission route will affect your existing application before proceeding.

2. O’Level results must be verified

Candidates must obtain a verification code through the appropriate examination body.

The document lists these verification charges:

Number of sittings

Verification charge

One sitting

₦1,500

Two sittings

₦2,000

Candidates will provide information such as their examination year, examination number and subjects.

For WAEC, the advisory identifies this portal:

WAEC Result Verification Code Portal

The June document does not provide the corresponding links for NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS. Applicants using those results should confirm the current procedure through official channels.

Result verification charges are separate from registration charges.

3. How the general special-registration process works

For candidates covered by the document’s general registration procedure:

Obtain a JAMB profile code if you do not already have one.

Create or use your existing JAMB e-Facility profile.

Visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre or the institution’s designated registration centre.

Select the appropriate NCE/Agric registration option.

Make the applicable payment.

Present your O’Level verification code and results.

Complete the required details, photograph and fingerprint capture where applicable.

Collect your registration slip.

The advisory states that candidates can obtain a profile code by sending NIN followed by their 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 .

For the NCE procedure, candidates select up to three College of Education choices.

4. What registration fees are stated?

The general procedure lists:

Payment

Amount

JAMB application registration

₦3,500

Centre registration charge

₦700

Registration subtotal

₦4,200

O’Level verification is additional.

However, the document contains separate provisions for 2026 applicants, so candidates should confirm their category before paying the ₦3,500 application fee.

5. Special instructions for 2026 applicants

For candidates already registered through the 2026 UTME route , JAMB says their details will be migrated to their selected first-choice College of Education or the eligible ND Agriculture programme.

They should:

Obtain the O’Level verification code.

Visit the appropriate centre to update their profile and verification details.

Pay the stated ₦700 registration charge .

Allow the institution to complete its recommendation process.

The section also permits new NCE candidates to register for 2026/2027 and states that the ₦3,500 application fee is not payable by that category.

Confirm the applicable 2026 procedure at the centre. The ₦700 registration charge does not include O’Level verification.

6. Can candidates register with awaiting results?

Yes, where the procedure permits it.

However, a college cannot propose or recommend an awaiting-result candidate for admission until the required results have been uploaded .

Registering with awaiting results is therefore different from being ready for admission processing.

7. What happens after registration?

The admission process follows these stages:

The institution reviews the candidate’s results and details.

Its authorised officers propose and recommend the candidate.

JAMB verifies the results and reviews the recommendation through CAPS.

The candidate accepts or rejects any admission offer.

After accepting, the candidate prints the JAMB admission letter.

A registration slip or payment receipt is not an admission offer.

8. What about students admitted without the proper JAMB process?

The advisory provides a separate condonement procedure for affected College of Education students from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions .

This provision excludes 2026 intakes.

Affected students must have their results available, obtain the verification code and complete the required registration through the appropriate centre. Awaiting results are not permitted for this category.

The listed registration charges total ₦4,200 , with verification charged separately.

9. Important notice for affiliated degree applicants

The advisory states that, from 2026/2027 , admissions into Colleges of Education are through NCE, with restrictions on 100-Level, 200-Level and affiliated programme admissions.

For affected 2026 degree applicants, it outlines options that vary by entry route, including:

Changing institution.

Moving to the parent university for eligible Direct Entry applicants.

Using a second-choice institution.

Moving to an NCE programme where applicable.

Some changes are specified as free in the advisory.

The document mentions a 22 June deadline for one option. That date has passed; it must not be presented as a new deadline. Affected candidates should confirm what action is currently available.

OGBAdmissionHub’s advice

Before paying or changing your admission route, confirm:

Your exact applicant category.

Whether your programme is covered.

The fees that apply to you.

Whether your results are ready and verified.

How the change affects your existing application.

Also remember: applying to study for an NCE qualification is different from using an already-earned NCE certificate to seek Direct Entry admission.
