UNICAL 2026/2027 Portal Check: Supplementary UTME Open, DE Page Says Closed

Portal checked: 26 October 2026 | OGB Admission Hub

The University of Calabar’s 2026/2027 screening portal currently advertises supplementary UTME registration for listed under-subscribed programmes. However, applicants should not assume the same availability or payment instructions apply to Direct Entry.

UTME supplementary registration

The official portal homepage lists available programmes and describes eligibility for candidates with at least 150 in UTME, including eligible candidates wishing to switch to UNICAL. The UTME registration page also displays a supplementary-screening notice.

Check that your intended programme appears on the current list and that your subjects and qualifications meet its requirements. A general supplementary invitation does not establish that Medicine, Law, Nursing or every other programme is available.

Direct Entry: follow the specific page

The Direct Entry application page says registration has closed. Other parts of the site still contain text suggesting that DE is open. Because those statements conflict, OGB is not treating the general wording as confirmation that fresh DE applications are being accepted.

Check the amount before paying

The homepage mentions a ₦2,000 screening fee, while the UTME registration page displays a ₦2,300 total. The pages reviewed do not explain that difference. Do not assume an explanation or send money to a personal account; confirm the applicable amount and receipt directly with the university before authorising payment.

The portal publishes ICT help numbers 0701 985 2501 and 0818 362 6190 , and the email myunicalquickdesk@gmail.com . Quote the page and your entry route when requesting clarification; never disclose a password or OTP.

Correction: Our earlier brief report did not distinguish current supplementary UTME availability from the closed DE page. This revised check replaces that blanket description. No closing date is asserted in this report.
