How to Check Whether a University Admission Form Is Still Open

A list headed “forms are out” can become outdated quickly. To decide whether you can still apply, you need the institution’s current notice for your academic session, entry route and programme.

Use a dated source, not just a headline

On OGB’s forms tracker , search for the school and read the listing details. Follow its official source link and check the session, eligibility requirements, deadline and payment instructions. A website copyright date or an old post shared again does not establish a fresh admission opening.

Check the type of application

UTME, Direct Entry, supplementary, pre-degree and other admissions may operate on different windows. A university may also restrict a supplementary exercise to selected programmes. Do not infer that your course or entry route is included simply because the institution appears on a general list.

Know what the portal is allowing

Application websites may retain login, payment-resolution, slip-printing or result-checking functions after new registration closes. Look for the actual new-application instruction and check whether a closure notice appears when you choose your route.

If the homepage and the route-specific page disagree, ask the institution to clarify. If a deadline has passed, look for an official extension rather than relying on a payment button that is still visible.

Before you submit

Compare your subjects and qualifications with the notice, review the exact course offered, confirm the amount you are authorising and keep the final acknowledgement. If you use paid application assistance, distinguish the school’s charges from the assistance fee.
