JAMB 2027 registration announcement expected soon — what candidates should know

As preparations intensify for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), prospective candidates across Nigeria are increasingly asking one important question: When will JAMB 2027 registration officially begin?

A countdown display monitored by OGB Admission Hub currently highlights November 2026 as a possible period for the next registration announcement, raising expectations among candidates preparing for the examination.

However, students should understand that this countdown is an indicative planning reminder and not an official announcement from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

As of October 31, 2026, JAMB has not officially announced the commencement date, closing date or registration fees for the 2027 UTME.

Could JAMB announce registration dates in November 2026?

The November countdown suggests that candidates should begin monitoring official announcements more closely.

It does not establish that registration will begin in November.

For comparison, registration for the 2026 UTME commenced on January 26, 2026, and closed on February 28, 2026.

The 2027 registration calendar may differ, particularly because of the Federal Government's ongoing efforts to harmonise examination schedules.

Candidates should therefore avoid treating dates circulating on social media as confirmed registration information.

Federal Government proposes March 15–25 for 2027 UTME

In an official statement issued on October 14, 2026, the Federal Ministry of Education outlined a proposed harmonised examination timetable.

Under the proposal, the 2027 UTME would take place between March 15 and March 25, 2027 , with results expected in March.

The proposed timetable is intended to improve coordination between examination bodies and support a more predictable admission process.

However, these examination dates remain provisional until confirmed through JAMB's official examination timetable.

What should candidates do before registration begins?

Rather than waiting until registration opens, OGB Admission Hub encourages candidates to begin preparing immediately.

Prospective candidates should:

Confirm that their National Identification Number (NIN) and personal information are accurate.

Identify their preferred institution and intended course of study.

Verify the correct four JAMB subject combinations, including compulsory Use of English.

Review the relevant O'Level admission requirements.

Begin regular CBT practice and identify weak subjects.

Monitor official JAMB announcements for registration dates, fees and approved procedures.

These preparations can reduce avoidable errors when registration eventually opens.

Final advice to prospective candidates

The countdown towards the 2027 UTME has begun, but serious examination preparation should not wait until registration opens.

With a proposed earlier examination period, candidates have every reason to establish their study routines and confirm their admission requirements now.

OGB Admission Hub will continue monitoring official JAMB announcements and update students when the registration commencement date, closing date, fees and examination timetable are formally released.
