LASU Admission Screening: Check Official Requirements Instead of Unverified Safe Scores

Applicants to Lagos State University should use its official screening portal and programme requirements when preparing for admission. Claims about hidden benchmarks or guaranteed “safe scores” should not replace the university’s published conditions.

What the portal says

The screening portal reviewed on 26 October 2026 states a minimum UTME score of 195 and first-choice status for the UTME route. It also instructs candidates to upload O-level results through an accredited JAMB CBT centre before proceeding. Direct Entry applicants have a separate set of instructions.

A portal being accessible is not, on its own, proof that a new application window is open. Check the applicable session and any current deadline before paying.

Eligibility and selection are different

A screening eligibility score is not a guarantee of admission into a particular course. Check the course’s subjects and qualification conditions separately. Use an aggregate formula only when LASU has confirmed that it applies to the relevant session.

Applicants using an indigene verification process should follow the university’s verification instructions. Completing verification does not itself constitute an admission offer. This article does not assign an undocumented preference, penalty or admission probability to any applicant category.

Keep your registration details private and save payment confirmations. If instructions on a forwarded flyer conflict with the university portal, obtain clarification from the university before acting.

Correction, 26 October 2026: Removed unsupported formula claims, “safe” programme scores and assertions about hidden selection advantages from the earlier guide.
