JAMB CAPS Restored: 2026/2027 Admission Deadlines and What Candidates Should Do

JAMB announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a temporary disruption, urging institutions to accelerate admission processing and candidates to respond promptly to admission offers. The announcement was made on September 28, 2026 . It should be understood as a dated update, rather than a guarantee of uninterrupted portal availability today. Reported admission completion deadlines Institution category Deadline Public universities October 31, 2026 Private universities November 30, 2026 Other tertiary institutions December 31, 2026 These dates were stated in the report. They are deadlines for completing admission processing—not a promise that every school will continue selling application forms until those dates. Can the dates change? A later official announcement could revise the deadlines. However, the cited report does not announce an extension . Candidates should work towards the published dates and avoid relying on rumours that more time will automatically be granted. What candidates should do now Check JAMB CAPS and your institution’s portal regularly. Verify your O-level results are uploaded correctly , especially if you previously registered with awaiting results. Review admission offers carefully and respond promptly through the official process. Confirm your school’s own deadlines for screening, supplementary applications and acceptance payments. JAMB’s official explanation of CAPS identifies O-level result uploads as a requirement before awaiting-result candidates can be considered for admission. OGB AdmissionHub advice Do not wait for a possible extension before correcting missing documents or following up on your application. If your admission status or next step is unclear, request an OGB review. Visit www.ogbadmissionhub.com for admission guidance and personal application support. Deadline information is subject to subsequent official JAMB announcements and institution-specific notices.
